Jordan :

An official from the Jordanian Ministry of Health reported that the ministry is expecting to receive the first batch of H1N1 virus vaccination in November this year, after referring tenders to two international companies. Reports from the ministry assured that those in charge will make sure a sufficient amount of vaccinations are available before pilgrims leave to Mecca, in order to contain any spread of the disease in the season of pilgrimage, which could be dramatic, considering the great number of people gathering in Mecca at that time. These announcements come at a time when the number of confirmed cases of the flu has increased to 162 since mid June this year. The question remains now as to whether the vaccinations will really do the job and prevent infections? Or should people just be careful and avoid big gatherings?
