The proposed draft constitution scheduled for publishing this week is promising to radically alter governance in Kenya. Its’ no doubt that Kenyans are looking forward to a referendum next year that will mark the country’s much hyped up constitutional change. The proposed new constitution will see the light of the day only if a majority of Kenyans voted in its favor than witnessed in 2005 when the then proposed constitution suffered a massive rejection. The country’s constitution has been the center of politics and there is likelihood that there could be a repeat of what happened in 2005 which also determines the mood of the country as we approach the general election in 2012.
