The blast happened in the morning while many people were not up yet. It was heard in most parts of the city and it startled many people waking those slept and shaking the grounds to a large distance. The blast has targeted the sensitive street where security and intelligence offices are situated. This place has been targeted earlier and remains the most sensitive part of the city. Following the Waziristan operation, Peshawar city has become the main target of militants and despite all the security measures, militants seem to be having an edge over the law-enforcing agencies. And the price is paid by innocent civilians. In the latest blast, most of the casualties are reportedly those of civilians. People who used to migrate to Peshawar from other war-torn areas are now keeping away from the city and the city’s own inhabitants have restricted outdoor activity like shopping and doing business too early or late in the morning.
