In continuation of their Philosophy of ‘no talks’ Taliban militants have denied secret Talks with the UN in the past. In addition, Taliban hold that they would continue to fight till the unconditional withdrawal of US led forces from Afghanistan.”"Denying former UN representative to Afghanistan Kai Eides statement regarding secret talks, Taliban militants have released a statement holding Kai Eides statement irresponsible remarks and vowed to fight till the unconditional withdrawal of foreign forces. In the same statement Taliban have clarified their position, referring to them as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan saying The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not believe in any political surreptitious contacts nor has it had such contacts.” In the meanwhile they have replaced their captured leader Mullah Barader with a Guantanamo released Taliban militant the younger Abdul Qayuum Zakir who rejoined the group after being released in 2008.”
